I was given my first acoustic guitar at the age of fifteen as a Christmas present. However, I did not consider getting seriously involved with playing this kind of instrument until my college years. At that time, my music tastes shifted, so I got a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar and embarked on a new music trip. My determination to receive formal music education on guitar led me to enroll in the blues/rock guitar department of the Contemporary Conservatory of Thessaloniki.

I immediately became interested in studying the blues music genre. I was carried away by the compositions of the pioneers of american folk and popular music in the pre-World War II era. At the same time, I admired the way contemporary musicians built on this fundamental material. Robert Johnson, Sam "Lightning" Hopkins, Reverend Gary Davis and Muddy Waters are some of my major influences among the early masters of the blues idiom. I should also acknowledge my admiration to the works of artists such as Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green, Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Along with my effort to master the blues guitar and improve my music skills, I had the opportunity to dig into the lives and careers of many of the aforementioned musicians. Herein are available the results of my research for Skip James and Rory Gallagher. These assignments were completed within the frames of the "History of Music" class, which I took and successfully completed during my studies.
